I seriously love it… Breakfast, snack, on top of my lunch, dessert (the latter I usually refrain myself from giving in too often, ok maybe just sometimes, argh ok… shhh).
We had our Raw Chocolate workshop at the studio last weekend and Ads spoke about putting some buckwheat granola into your plain chocolate mixture for a delicious chocolate crunch.
There was a sample of the granola for peeps to try and yep… It appears I am not the only self-confessed addict out there. I promised I’d get a recipe out there.
Soooo… Here it is!
This recipe does involve a dehydrator… If you don’t have one or you’re not particularly fussed on keeping it raw… I am sure the oven on low may work but I haven’t tried it – So maybe don’t be too upset with me if that happens to fail miserably. 😉
RAW CACAO BUCKWHEAT GRANOLA
2 cups Buckwheat Groats
1 TBLs of Maple Syrup
2 TBLs of Cacao Powder
1 tsp of Maca Powder
1 tsp of Lucuma Powder
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Pinch of Himalayan Salt
1/2 cup of Shredded Coconut (organic/preservative free/unsweetened)
1/4 cup of Cacao Nibs
1/2 cup of Goji Berries
You can also really pimp your granola out with different options… Dried Mulberries, figs, nuts and seeds. I’ve also used doTERRA essential oils as well for some epic flavours.
Soak the buckwheat groats in filtered water until they soften (a couple of hours). Drain and rinse really well. In a bowl mix ALL ingredients until well combined.
Place on a dehydrator tray with a reflex sheet and place in dehydrator overnight!
Wake up, do yoga, eat, be awesome.
I recommend having it with coconut milk, yoghurt, chia pudding (like our Saturday morning ones available after class) or on top of your bowl/smoothie. Whatever tickles your fancy right!
